Considering the general atmosphere here, it's strange that more people aren't leaving. How many of your colleagues have left recently?

WD managers play favorites. Titles don't mean sh*t at WD. A senior supervisor made 200k base, 15% bonus, and 50k stock after a correction because he came in at the incorrect band, but the company didn't want to upset others with quick title changes. So much idiocy. WD titles are so inflated. Everyone is a poorly performing technologist or director. Directors at WD are just 2nd line managers.
The people who are staying are probably making enough where they don't want to go anywhere else for fear of starting new and being found out they don't have relevant skills or talent.
@1toc jobs are out there for the flexible
I really want to recommend my young coworkers like NCG or junior engineers to find opportunities somewhere else. But that would be political incorrect talk in company so I couldn't do it. Wish they can see post here.
a colleague left just after the layoff and others are looking
Job market is not great, that's probably a good explanation for a lot of people. I am actively interviewing right now. My team had one guy leave shortly after the hacking incident. Most of the other people on my team are lifers. I'd imagine a lot more people would be looking to get out but that's not the impression I've gotten from people I work with.
Maybe because the market is not that great ? No bonus no 401k no RSU is stupid to stay
My colleague was earning 200k too. He was grateful too, and could not understand all the negativity around.
Then he got the boot last month. Hopefully he understands it now
My team didn't get impact by last RIF but there were 2 engineers left.
50% bonus from WDC - BS
@tth+1 not level headed, as opposed to rejoining a company to discover it’s worse than you remember Hello, McFly
You are being treated well with tons of money. If you jump ship, the next captain may not match or beat your very nice salary : )
Not surprising at all. People here is only a very small portion of WDC employees. And from the postings, you could see that they're not level headed, but that's understandable because they're disappointed by how WD treated them. I made a mistake of rejoining thinking that current WD would be different from the old one. It's actually worse.
That being said, the fact that I'm still making above 200k a year, potentially 300k if they bring back the bonus, I am not going to complain too much, and I'm grateful. That doesn't mean I'm not going to look for new opportunities once the market improves.
