This naming has nothing to do with Hoc. Purely BU egos behind this.
Looks like a VMW copycat of IBM's approach ibm.com/cloud-paks
BTW, Hok would not follow IBM's failed attempts to gain traction in the cloud market.
It doesn't simplify anything, and is very much opposed to what and how customers want to buy. This is just the latest version of a tone-deaf BU answering a question nobody asked, and I also suspect it is driven by Hok from the shadows (or perhaps those who want to endear themselves to him).
