Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Era of Innovation-ish

It's highly unlikely that at a time of unprecedented fear of layoffs at T-Mobile, you're going to inspire innovation. When people fear losing their jobs, they rarely become more creative or innovative. Sure, there are exceptions where people have been creative or resourceful for survival. But what we'll see more often is less innovation and motivation, and more fear, defensiveness, territorialism, micro-management, and other behaviors that lead to the opposite of innovation.

Even if you are innovative in this place, someone else seems to pop up and take credit for your work. Or even worse, steal your work and show it as their own...

These are the times when people need to motivate themselves. In times when they're looking to make decisions, being lazy, unmotivated gives them fuel.
