Thread regarding 3M layoffs

3Mhealth.com email

IT is converting all A# @3M.com email addresses to A# @3Mhealth.com email addresses. If the name wasnt going to be 3M Health Care, why would IT use 3Mhealth as the domain? Unless they are going to switch everything twice?!

Or maybe they bought the domain as it is likely an option for SpinCos name. It’s like the guy who bought up different versions of the Los Angeles Rams name for domains in an effort for a fat payday from the team.

Occam’s razor. Most of what you are all saying is conspiracy theory. Likely reason is more benign in nature.

Check to see what other domains were purchased. Not sure how you know they bought the domain.

This is the first step to the sale of spinco as they will adopt the name of the new parent…. The plot thickens….

This is so disgusting. It is one thing trying to mislead the employees, but it is another thing with trying to mislead shareholders. If they announced the spin off just to buy time and now are going back on their decisions, I hope that a class action is made against the company for misleading shareholders on the spin off. 3MHealth.com.... what a joke...

Unfortunately EY was more focused on upselling workshops and other consultations the first 9 mos instead of guiding and leading work. Another example of wasted $$ for nothing. I also love that some of the senior leader ship in the SMO office conveniently took other roles, so they’re not held accountable for decisions that they ultimately made 6-7 mos ago. Can’t make it up.

3M announced their stake would be 19.99% and the remaining 80.01% would be the stake of the controlling entity.

It is entirely possible, for branding purposes, name recognition, and ease of transition, the email may remain as you’ve indicated.

Then again when 3M purchased KCI, there were in fact TWO different email domains created. Yes… addresses were switched twice AND old email was not imported from KCI to 3M.

I worked M&A for even larger firms and I never saw such ignominious and juvenile practices like those propagated by 3M. The added costs and duplicative actions were astonishing.
