Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Is it really that easy to do?

Take the money and run. The grass is greener on the other side. You will be respected, paid fairly, rewarded for your ideas and expertise, treated fairly with realistic goals and help to get there. It’s out there folks you just have to take that leap of faith. I loved Medtronic, it was my dream company to work for. When I got there it wasn’t all that cracked up to be. Lots of great people, but leadership was probably the worst I ever had in my career. Go get your next adventure and have an open mind. The grass can and will be greener. @2ysr+1nlAGkN0

This is an excellent advice, but is it really that easy to do, that is, leave now and find a better opportunity in the current job market?

It’s me again and I also just want to add to the person below that you can request a copy of your non-compete from HR. Just use that AskHR character and it will open a ticket for you. I received an email with my agreement in a couple days.

I did have a non-compete agreement with MDT, and also with my new company. When I interviewed, their HR asked to see a copy for legal to review. Following their review they stated there wouldn’t be any concerns. However, I wasn’t deep enough in MDT to actually know anything super confidential. I didn’t tell any colleagues where I was going after I resigned though.

To the poster below.... Congrats! Did you have a noncompete? I am in finance and don't remember if I do or not, wondering how it works with competitors.

I did it….. I’m only on week 3 at the new job but I went from making $120k at MDT to $165k at a competitor plus more PTO, holidays, bigger bonus %. I was a Senior Specialist at MDT. I think my comp was super low compared to others I hear. Glad I left.
