Lower number of promotions in PEP cycle?

I'm hearing rumours and people telling me that there will be a lower amount of promo's this PEP cycle. Can any managers confirm?

Increases are lower than previous years. Promotions are less but still happening in some areas. Internal movement continues to take place but at a smaller rate. Operations BU will not get PEP or promotions, and instead are receiving an equity grant or cash retention bonus. Likely a clear sign that those roles will be the first cut after acquisition. This is all true and accurate information and not me "trolling".

Everything should roll out on 7/15 from what I heard. Lower amount of promotions, but employees should see a small % increase in pay or equity offer. 7/15 is when managers will get the exact details for their teams.

Our direction is to continue to the cycle like previous years, but very specifically Director or up moves is will be rare (to fill badly needed positions) Individual contributors P1-P4 or 5 are priority.

At Sr Dir level, going through my chart I am expecting 1-2 fewer promos. last year I had 5 promos. So 20-40% decline if you want to cut it that way

Glad it’s going normally.
What % of approvals are you seeing compared to other years?

You people think promotions are going to be normal with the imminent acquisition ?

They are going normally. Same process, same planning, same review criteria. Nothing has changed except a smaller percentage of approvals.

I've never seen such a delusional bunch of people as I have seen at VMware. You people think promotions are going to be normal with the imminent acquisition ?

Not to mention: if you're not Indian on an H1B, why are you still bothering to work at VMware?

Every current policy is to weed out to lessen the terminations inevitable under BC.

Wooow, does 5G give me COVID too?
Mate, get your sen off the Red Bull and calm down.

You’re welcome.

P1/2

P3/4

Is there a cap per group do we know. I was hoping for a promo this cycle!

Yes promotions were very limited and mostly focused on lower levels. Very very few management promos
