MONROE, Tuesday June 27, 2023 – Lumen Technologies (NYSE:LUMN) and the University of Louisiana Monroe announced the donation of Lumen’s local campus to the university. In a departure from corporations selling their unused real estate after moving to remote or hybrid work, Lumen is gifting its property to the university in alignment with its ongoing commitment to both higher education and the Monroe community.

ULM is a state college. Your taxes will now be paying all the electric, water and maintenance costs of that 77 acre 1 million Sq ft complex. The gift that keeps giving.
Can ULM afford to maintain the Lumen campus? They just took on close to 1 million additional square feet to renovate, heat and cool, and 77 more acres to upkeep.
Most public universities in the state of Louisiana are forced to operate on twin-stick, bubble gum and zip ties, so I sincerely wish them the best.
