Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

The Trolls are Out in Force

Schwab had the Reddit thread brought down but they cannot do that to the layoff site. This must really upset the EC. The Trolls are really trying to defend this decision now on the site. The issue is not the decision that was made. It was HOW it was made. It was made in a silo of out of touch executives with no feedback from senior leaders or the workforce. The workforce was LIED to for months that no changes were planned for RTO and moved based on this direction from leadership. The real issue is that the EC has lost all employee trust with these decisions plain and simple. Trust is gained over time but lost in an instant. Very true.

Yes, Wart even mentioned in his town hall in Omaha that the decision would not be reversed just because some upset people were posting on anonymous sites. LOL.

So, the firm cannot force a thread to be removed on reddit. However, they more than likely oversee the monitors and I am sure they had influence there. In addition, several posters have been influenced to delete their accounts.

I feel the truth is that many employees feel they can no longer trust the company. I have bene told for years that CS has so many 20+ years employees because they fostered an environment of trust. That, of course, was destroyed in one email.

One thing to keep in mind when posting here or on other social media.

HR may monitor posts here and on Reddit, but they don’t own these websites and can’t delete those posts themselves.

The only thing they can do is to report a certain post for being illegal or violating the websites’ rules. If and only if the post in question does break those rules, it gets deleted by site owners/moderators.

So, when posting be smart and make sure the post doesn’t contain f-words and personal insults. Don’t name people who aren’t c-suits, and when criticizing the management focus on their work instead of their looks and personality and the chances are your post won’t get deleted

Absolutely agree. Honestly, I thought the idea of the union was kind of stupid but after seeing the town hall video and the lie about why they kept it a secret made my skin crawl. Like… how stupid do you think everyone is? Does Walt REALLY think that we are imbeciles?
