Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Q3 Layoff....true or not

There has been much chatter about regular quarterly layoffs until such a time the FTE headcount is similar to the TMUS count prior to the merger. Is this true? Does this make sense? Is there a top secret readout of true attrition count? Has anyone with good data creds been able to track and aggregate multi-state WARN data to convey an accurate readout of the true layoff numbers? Inquiring minds want to know.

There are large scale office moves beginning this coming weekend in Bellevue. Stacking the sardines closer together so T-Mobile can pull themselves out of 3 offices in Eastgate. Some areas have more people than desks...something's got to give.

I heard last week that large scale office moves are planned for September. This aligns with the idea of a quarterly layoff cadence to meet typical 60 day WARN requirements.

This is speculation only please don't attack me.

Persons from Sprint doing the most damage:

Sievert (yes, I count him as Sprint because he came from that clusterf called Clearwire)
Cano (New on the list...I wasn't impressed by his performance at Ulf's All Hands)
Saw (Lots of ideas, but his history at Sprint shows he doesn't seem to be able to produce anything from them)
Ulf (Comes from Ericsson, so I'll assume he had some prior contact/interaction with Sprint when E/// basically ran Sprint for 5 years).

Some positions were remote prior to the merger and COVID.

Who are these remote workers and why do they still have the ability to work remote?

Those not working in an office are going to be the first to go. Watch.

While I agree everyone should be held to the same work location expectations, working from home is no less productive than being in the office. If there are performance and productivity issues with people working from home, those same issues would exist in the office. You're "picking up the slack" for lower performer.ers because your leaders don't know how to lead people not in the office. Periodt.

Please layoff the crybabies who don't want to return to the office. I'm tired of having to take up the slack for the WORK THEY SHOULD BE DOING. Word.

History repeats itself. A year after Cingular purchased ATT wireless, the Cing Orange techs were let go and the smurfs were kept with their incredible lack of knowledge working on E/// equipment. The "new" att has made nothing but mistakes since...including bailing out failed TMO. Now it's the Spint management getting ready to fail TMO.

I think people generally get it, but maybe these attempts at humor are falling short of being humourous at all and are actually annoying.

Some of you people are failing to see the subtle humor in these comments. George H.W. Bush and Jim Mora have joined the thread to make some anonymous comments on the layoffs.

Nerds and trolls, I repeat:

Widespread and deep cuts are happening in late September, early October. This is not speculation or rumor. It's happening.

Yeah, there will be layoffs, like ever quarter. TMO is a washed out dead-end job. If you have options elsewhere, pursue them!

You don't have to be "in the know" to know layoffs are going to continue to happen. The merge is pretty much complete. What was once two separate networks is now one. Its the necessary evil part of doing business. Just sucks that there will be a lot of great talent separated from the company.

There is a report that does show attrition that I have access too - at least for the call center/tmobile for business space. That shows transfers, terminated/not in role/new hires etc.

I've seen the report for retail as well - I do not know if one exists for other departments.

Unfortunately it’s very true. There will be major cuts! Company is looking to get back to the number they had pre merger. T100/ SMRA/ Engineering/ Sr. Manager positions. The company is looking at it from a perspective that if your aren’t contributing to the companies success in a major way,, they are looking to cut you

2019 annual report showed T-Mobile with 53000 employees. 2022 annual report showed 70000 employees. Do the math.
