Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Quiet tap on the shoulder

A LL5 told me their job / department is moving to India and THEY need to find new jobs or their out. I do not know if this is the beginning of the 2023 terminations or a continuation of the slow destruction of the US salary work force. Anyone else hear of other getting the quiet tap on the shoulder?

@OP there have been quite a few LL5s and LL6s in IT who have been told that either their team(s) are being moved to India or outsourced to Kyndryl. Some actions this year, some in 2024. Those who are ready to retire are just riding it out, others are scrambling to find a new position (easier said than done). They have not informed their GSRs yet. Those of you who have staff augmentation from Kyndryl pay attention. Step 1 staff augmentation, Step 2 Kyndryl primary on processing requests with Ford assistance and guidance. Step 3 Bye Bye Ford team.

I find it pretty infuriating that they're cutting positions all in the realm of IT but have openings posted on 06/25/2023 in the current openings of HCM for Chennai for those same positions.
