Minimizing employee achievement

Perhaps it's just my impression, but it seems to me that the belittling of employees has never been more present here than it is now. If the boss sets very unrealistic goals and then criticizes us of being incapable to meet them, what's the big idea?
Certainly not to get the best out of us.

The company has always encouraged mediocrity. It's baked into the rating system.

They aren't willing to pay achievers, and they're not willing to deal with underachievers. The path to success has always been "be good enough, and nothing more, or less"

Your leadership are ALL policicians. Most have substance abuse issues. Trust none of them ever. If you do, they use ot against you. Document them and bring it home everyday. They go through your desk just like your computer. You have zero privacy once you sign on.

its about cutting costs, you cant get a raise if you get a bad score, and the ground work starts with little criticisms that escalate to minor issues, something that was never an issue is suddenly an issue, random change in rules, unrealistic goals all just so that your year end review looks bad enough for no bonus or reduced and no raise in pay or reduced raise if any.

stay on your toes, document everything dont leave room for any thing they can latch on to to pile on you and gas light you, if you have no pension i would look around for other jobs just in case.
