For those that will be let go, unfortunately your last day will be today. These meetings were to save face from last years layoff disaster.
If your manager or any higher up asks you about what you are working on, act clueless. They want you to fork over any info/docs before letting you go.
@lsp+1njSwxHw - Yep, it'll be a along a typical Pareto distribution. Most will be notified in short order, and the rest will take the longest due to a variety of reasons. Such as those who are on vacation as you mention. Last year we were given the 'all-clear' message Thursday morning (with rumor that we were by mid Wednesday afternoon). I expect I'll hear the same again this time around, unless I'm tapped on the shoulder on Tuesday.
This is being done differently this time.
It will not drag out til August.
When you get the all clear then you are clear.
If not, you are not.

Last round of layoffs took longer than 2 days in our area because a few people being laid off were away on vacation. So they could be saying it may take all week to allow for that.
Last layoff (August 2022) they announced on Monday that notifications will be sent out throughout the week, but 95% of people received the notification on first day and by Tuesday end of day all affected people were notified.
Not everyone was in one of those meetings, and since we are hearing the information said it would be throughout the week we are curious why someone is saying they know it will be today and tomorrow.
If you were in one of these meetings, this is common sense. No source needed.
