Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Friday was my last day!

It was all of a sudden notice given by my agency manger. I have been working at ford since 2 and half years. I survived last 2 majors layoffs happened in the last year. Caught up this time. It was unfortunate to see loosing all the access to the email and slack ruthlessly 😢

Considering you can get the same amount of work, and the same poor level of communications skills, for 1/3 of the price from an illiterate Indian ... so sure ... keep on truckin'.

Ugh ... the spelling and poor grammar. Can't imagine why you were laid off.

Sorry, not sorry. Agency are meant to supplement full time staff. Ford has a history of keeping agency long term instead of short term as originally intended. You're not a Ford employee and when belt tightening starts, supplemental staff should be the first to go.

My friend from active safety (no name) did leave ford in Feb and he is very happy now. You don't get 25 % more he moved for 8 % more but mainly just to leave.

I got cut awhile back and it looks hopeless. I never thought that engineering would turn out to be a dead field.

Good luck to you friend.
I'm currently salaried and I'm gonna work on transitioning out of Ford if I don't get cut first.

Ford has changed or it probably has always been this way and I was just too blind to see it.
