Imagine a young person watching their parents or other adults in the engineering profession be so callously tossed to the curb like this. What kid is going to want to take those “hard” math and science classes just to have a life of economic insecurity?

Some salaried people have recently gone into skilled trades thru the UAW apprentiship program. They saw the writing on the wall.

Actually, I know some people who when into Liberal Arts and are doing quite well. Liberal Arts are used in the advertising and marketing fields. Some are doing better than most engineers.

That's why I think a lot of young people should consider trades as careers. Trades people often make fairly good money, don't have student loans to pay, and their jobs would not be easy to "offshore".

This service based economy will collapse along with US dollar.
The game of Offshoring and not investing in the future of technology/ people will have consequences.
The 1st sign is enrollment. Mainly in stem fields in the universities
When that goes down the country goes down with it
