Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Working that works - coming to an end

Anyone else think that PepsiCo is crazy to force everyone back 3 to 4 days/week starting in Sept? 1. I thought the PEP studies showed higher productivity 2. OHS scores for work life balance are now extremely high (super improvement from before) 3. I thought we were so proud of our Best Place to work status? 4. I thought we were having a problem attracting talent? What genius thought of this idea and thought it would be a POSITIVE change?!

Just don't go in and enjoy the smell of burning neurons while the brain trust tries to figure out how to serve a tall stack of pink slips at once without creating a security risk. You know with the payroll clusterfu-k folks will probably continue to be paid after they're virtually 'walked out'

Simple 8hrs. Clock in clock out and not log in afterwards

All the managers have to justify their existence by playing office.

global expectation 3 to 4 days a week beginning Sept

  1. Don't give me collaboration BS. Just say we are coming back. If face to face was so important, managers would not be in different cities/countries than contributors.
  1. You instantly get less hours. The 2 i did not commute, I worked. Now it will be commute +8 hours, no more, no less.
  1. I will not "hotel" a space I will squat it and move all my stuff in to work effectively. I am not setting up an office every day, week, etc..

If they increase my salary by at least 50%, I'll consider coming in one or two days a week.

Your options:

  1. Complain online and eventually accept it knowing this WILL be 5 days a week eventually.
  2. Look for something that pays you more and works you less, with work from home. (Bring your friend with you - mass exodus numbers talk.)
  3. Fight it collectively with your Co-workers:
    • Only work 8hrs a day, which is what you are ONLY paid for. (Prove their biased "work from the office" productivity claims are fake.)

    • The average employee is losing 1 - 2 hours a days commuting. You aren't paid for that time. PepsiCo is closing to lose that productivity time by making you come in.

    • Use your voice - we are in a cancel culture environment and fear of that makes change happen.
  • If all that fails, revert back to #1 or #2

Granted, it isn't like this works in White Plains before the pandemic. Most people never showed up as it was.

there’s really no point to this. zoom exists so there’s no need for a mandate. just shows how little technology has actually helped in the long run.

well if this is true, then I guess I am back to 8 hours and not 9-10 for them. they will see 2 swipes of my badge, 1 when I enter and 1 when I leave

Whatever sanity is left is going to be gone. Forget about extra hours

is there really talk of back in the office 3-4 days/ week? I have been fully remote as of this year, hybrid prior to that due to the company still using so much paper for everything. I get so much more done not having to listen to others chat while I am trying to listen to a conference call
