Although I hope that the rumors about layoffs that are circulating are not true, I am interested if there is any truth to them, and if so, how far from them are we?

Heard they are working on next layoff sheet. Mostly senior people who could be replaced with low cost juniors.
Mass hiring in low cost center in Malaysia, won't be surprised another few hundreds to be gone from SG and US next.
As promised by HR and the CEO in the last Global Cast the Transition to Retirement Program 3.0 details should be sent out late 2Q..June..this week.
I have just heard that development will be hit again to accelerate the outsourcing from fab sites to lower cost geos. I've heard numbers like 10-20% of development will be let go and then re-hiring in Bulgaria will happen (cost is aprox 5X cheaper than in US). I have not heard anything about other areas in GF. Has anyone else heard anything?
You seek truth at Globalfoundries? The two are mutually exclusive. Go back to work and stress some more, you have much to learn.
