@1tif+1neQnaqW Young, affluent, tech savvy people do t buy Ford vehicles. They are smarter and wealthy enough to do better.

The young and affluent customers are and should be our target. They are the most tech savvy and most likely to support our growing data/subscription service offerings.

If our government restricts the production of gasoline and diesel engines, what will the farm and construction industries do?

Will they be forced to purchase vehicles and equipment from foreign manufacturers?

Need strategy. The percentage of vehicle ownership among the young, affluent group is a lot lower than previous generations. Estimates are that the figure will continue to drop. The result will be Europe, with most young affluent types living in cities and taking public transportation.

So ignoring the rest of the vehicle buying population would bankrupt Ford.

Ford cannot survive without the farm and construction workers. And they want no nonsense trucks that can haul and pull. And they don't want all the fluff. And certainly not with subscription costs! Without those buyers Ford is sunk.

Ford leadership says that the Lightning, and eventually all of the portfolio, will be targeted to young and affluent customers. That is the market segment that Ford is working to align with.

We are at a point now where average or blue collar Americans cannot afford new vehicles. Ford believes that the young and affluent customer is a more stable segment.

I wonder how the data will differ between races and genders... or even political affiliations...

Now you can see media outlets reporting on the tremendous revenue that will result from data services and subscriptions.

Ford leadership made the right call in directing the company transformation plan to focus on Model e and not legacy products.

“Only one Ford model, the F150 truck, appears in recent lists of best-sellers”

One trick pony.

I trust Apple with my data. I don’t trust Ford with anything.

Not buying it. Google and Apple already have all of this data. And more.

Car manufacturers won't be able to compete with that.
