Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Final sale outlets are liquidation centers
belk is trying to liquidate before it dumps the outlet locations
Outlet locations do not have long term leases
Belk outlets are in low volume, low cash flow stores
Contrary to how belk spins this outlet malarkey, customers are NOT happy with the outlet concept as most of them have to travel to get to a “regular” Belk which allows returns.
The assortment really has not changed at most outlet stores, in fact, it has decreased, they lost cosmetics, jewelry, and most home goods. Racks replaced with long rails of crown and Ivy, Kim Rogers, Saddlebred. Not exactly the “better” brands belk claims to be selling.
Belk outlets are running on less than 800 hours, employees are doing anything and everything, it’s run worse than a Goodwill thrift store.
