Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Back to the office!

The reporting is out and so are the metrics by area. The % of remote and flex is hilarious and almost 100% in MN. You did this, Goff and team.

You did this and told us we had to stay at home to be "safe" for almost 3 years, and made us change our houses into your offices.

The people that branded all that sht about how great it was and spent all the money promoting it should be fired for lack of foresight. The people that kept everyone out of the offices for that long should also be fired for shtty judgment. And now you want to turn it back and ask us to ignore what you told us about how amazing the hybrid work model was?

Personally, I am looking forward to seeing quite a few sandbaggers that spend most of their day planning their kids birthday parties and running errands, actually have to go back to the office and work.

Anyway. It's coming and you will be monitored.

Unsure why they track all this sh-t anyway. I regularly drop F bo--s on calls, texts, on Teams and speak openly about the way leadership has been destroying this company. Have yet to face a single issue in over 9 years of being here. All that expensive tracking but doesn't seem to be used for anything worthwhile.

Monday to Thursdays in the office, 3 day weekend. WTH is wrong with people saying NO, I'm 5 days on campus, I'd love a 3 day weekend every week. IDK

Our team has been following RTO for a while and I am in office regularly, every week. I have made peace about RTO and I am not even mad that some teams (like mine) follow it more religiously than others. What makes me MAD though is the lack of cleanliness in the office. I work out of the Mounds View building and man they aren't even doing the bare minimum for cleanliness. The restrooms are always so dirty and feel like you are in a gas station restroom. I have been to the restroom three times just today between 8 AM and 3:30 PM and it has not been cleaned. I wish I could take pics and share how horrible they look. The refrigerators have so many stains and looks so dirty that I am nervous about my lunch bag being in there for few hours until lunch time. The floors do not seem to be getting vacuumed regularly. Like these are the bare minimum of what you can provide to employees if you are asking them to be in office. Obviously the policy is being mandated by people who never come into the office themselves, otherwise I am sure things would look a lot different!

Remote work didn’t cause this as the company has done this before COVID. It’s common knowledge that any company utilizing Cisco Jabber, Microsoft Teams and Office can pull all of your phone calls, conversations, activity time, etc. No conversation is every truly deleted. A colleague from Customer Care/Service has complained about the expensive tracking system MDT uses to monitor all work activities from phone calls, responding to emails, meeting with her boss, taking breaks/lunch, etc. I guess the success in micromanaging the bottom of the company is now being spread to everyone else.

The software is crowdstrike and zscaler installed on Corp laptops.

IT worker, former IT worker here - you don't need special tracking software on a laptop at MDT to find out whether any given laptop is onsite or offsite and to monitor activity levels if that's what you are implying.

I work in IT and there is tracking software on your laptop. Also, your card swipes are being counted as well.
