Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Where’s HR?

Wouldn’t HR know what groups are being targeted for layoffs? Why is no one from HR speaking up?

I realize if seems backward, but HR’s job is to protect the company.

Blame the lack of transparency on HR leadership. Layoffs and RTO.

HR is not in charge of the layoffs - the might be part of the puppet plan but they are not directing this

I doubt the majority of HR knows anything. HR is where it has always been: sitting in the corner, waiting to be told, reactive. It is well known they are bizarrely trying to distance themselves from RTO and layoffs. One would think they would offer live support or at the very least provide resources and communication for us. I have been through these types of scenarios at other companies and the HR department is night and day compared to Schwab. Everyone knows HR is not respected at this company. But when you have a bunch of ‘yes men’ drones, what do you expect? They don’t seem to understand that their lack of initiative and support will adversely influence anyone who leaves on their own or who are laid off on whether they would ever want to return to Schwab again.
