Thread regarding Disney layoffs

Disney Culture

I'm seeing two sides of Disney culture seemingly at odds on this board, only one of which I've experienced first-hand. I'm not even sure this is a conversation we're allowed to have on here because every time it comes up, the thread gets deleted. Which is weird given that I thought discussing company performance and potential for layoffs is why this board exists in the first place. But I'm curious to hear others' experience.

I think Disney trying to maintain two cultures is the root of a lot of issues here and leadership has been very wishy-washy about their words vs. actions. At the end of the day, there will be more cuts and only those that adhere to the company's goals will remain. Which regardless of whether or not I agree with them, I believe is fair. The problem of course is that right now, those goals are about as clear as mud.

OP is referring to the 'woke' as one culture and everyone else as the other

What are the “two different cultures” you’re referring to? I don’t understand.

@coyd+1nXSOaBz they're doing DEI because they have to. If they don't, they risk taking a hit on their ESG score and losing their credit lines. This is not sustainable, and companies that defect from ESG are going to be the those who survive.

DEI has destroyed this company. Iger's bullheaded commitment to this has divided the employees and run customers off in record numbers. Burbank is not middle America

Iger has really made a mess for himself. He's created a situation where you have a contingent of employees that hate a segment of their customer base and couldn't care less if they take their business elsewhere, but the question nobody can seem to agree on is how big that segment is. The West coasters clearly have one opinion which is their prerogative but I don't think is consistent with most others in the country.

goals

Make a profit? Advance an agenda?

First we need to see the impact of IgG4 shift. Most important issue for the next 6-12 mos. Nothing else even comes close.
