Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

I don't even expect transparency anymore

It's pretty clear that there is no more transparency here and that everything happens behind smoke and mirrors. Why do they think it's better to keep us in suspense while all kinds of rumors circulate as opposed to being upfront about it? This is exhausting.

My area techs were under suspicion of atm fraud due to thousands consistently missing from 1 remote atm. The techs, the machine itself were blamed for missing cash.
Turns out it was the banks own atm custodian the entire time who loaded the cash and did the balancing who was stealing.

The hassle to split this company into 2 is being done to make it nice and easy to sell off one part or both down the road. I’m sure well paid consultants have reviewed why the company failed to sell last couple years, too big, too many moving parts….slim it down and make it a nice attractive package so in a couple years either the atm or retail side gets purchased.

There is 1 former ATM CE who was let go from my team recently for supposedly stealing from an ATM during a service call. How in the world does this happen?? With all of the security cameras everywhere in a bank it’s hard to believe he wasn’t confronted prior to leaving. Curious to see how this turns out. I don’t always believe my TM so if he’s lying about anything wouldn’t be sad to see him let go. This company has become delusional and this split makes no sense to me. Correct me if I’m wrong here. What benefit does it provide to have the 2 separate companies?

Working for both but paid by one. Sounds unfair labor since those techs working on 1 paid by 1 are in a much better position.
I fall into the generalist category and support both Financial and Retail, I will be renegotiating my pay if I need to support 2 companies while other techs can focus on 1.

USB disabled is not accurate statement for sign of impending termination... also, many areas will be expected to support both companies after split because they do not have enough resources (leadership included) to prop up two companies... so if you do both now... you'll likely be doing both later but only paid as if you work for one company.... why the split is happening still is asinine.

Usb ports is a good way to tell if your about to be terminated, whoever says no is wrong, techs need the usb ports on their company laptops to create bios sticks, boot sticks to re image software, and update security dongles for retail and atm. It’s not a security policy in North America, never has been, if yours becomes disabled, you are being terminated.

I’d guess most of us will make it through the “split” only to want to move on due to being placed on a smaller team with longer hours and more availability.

Re: USB drives. Nope. That’s no longer a telltale sign. Those were disabled company wide as a security “initiative” about a year ago.

FYI, Test your laptop with a usb stick, they disable your usb ports a week before they terminate you trying to keep you from saving any files on external usb devices.

Really would like to know by this week or next what’s going on. I will probably get a sudden phone call from my TM when I’m busy working on an upcoming register conversion. This place is unbelievable and not going to get better with the split. This will be a major expense for NCR separating into 2 companies whether they admit it or not.

From what I remember your manager knows about 2 weeks before hand who gonna get cut. Lest that what happened to me. 2 managers expressed how they couldn’t sleep knowing this stuff was going down. They were also part of they layoffs.

Talk with your manager before they talk to you.

They are copy pasting before deleting the employees they want to outsource.

You do realize that all upper level managers undergo a surgery to remove their “honesty” gene before they can be promoted.

I was told everything was business as usual, our jobs are safe, 2 weeks later I was terminated, it’s outsourcing, same as a layoff….. in the 4 minute teams call getting terminated, i said to my boss, shame on you and hung up. The ethics by management are horrible, and the morale of employees is an all time low, and it’s because of zero transparency, terrible managers, low pay, cr-ppy raises, taking benefits away, and I could go on and on. Getting outsourced was honestly the best thing that could have happen.
