Thread regarding Resideo Technologies layoffs

It's as if they want to ruin everything!?

Maybe that's too harsh, but I really don't know how else to explain everything that the management does in this company. The damage they've caused is enormous.

You guys need to get how things work…
They key is always in passing the buck…yeah sometimes you can’t but do try. Software managed to do it you can

Even before the products managers could not get anything done - for years, no matter who was one. The major problem is with software in particular and services in general… the face they show is one thing how they actually behave is another. As long as we reward those overpaid grifters we won’t recover to our true potential.

Try getting a new product developed in the next 18 months. Most of Product Management were fired last week

Everything is great in resideo. We just need more software project to pad our resume while getting from the company salaries of 250-300k for writing silly lines of code. It’s hard to create 500 lines when 25 would achieve the same result!

They're chasing the shiny objects, pushing products to market without proper testing and then pi----g off customers. Can't blame the sales team for taking the "wait until all the kinks are worked out for this gizmo before trying to sell it" approach. Problem is it takes engineering/software teams months to figure out problems, and even then, they don't know how to fix it.

Market up, Resideo down 15%, amazing investors saw through the thick smokescreen earnings report.

Structural cost reduction while doing shares buyback is definetely a very short-term strategy to milk the cow and sell the meat.

“We are continuing to reduce our cost structure and we have further actions identified for the second half of 2023 “

Whats left of this place is about to be gutted.

I need a new car and a new house so I deserve that 3x bonus on the new product stormshitter. It doesn’t matter it has only one color -brown and a liquid faceplate. The software is amazing , the lights blink at 1 second interval and it’s connected to the WWW (internet for you dum dum)

Buying back shares is not fooling the market. Lack of innovation in P&S has long but doomed this company. Doorbells arriving are a little too late…. Selling filter subscriptions and trying to compete against Amazon doesn’t seem smart. Why is there no accountability, it’s simple. The execs are still getting their bonuses.

Sales are down and instead of investing in the business and trying to be more innovative and competitive, they are spending money to buy back stock. Makes sense.
