Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Is this the culture here?

I’ve been here for a while now and I still pretty much operate in a silo. I haven’t learned anything from anyone and I just use the internet to figure stuff out.

It would be nice to actually collaborate and learn from other people but everyone is just in their own corner it seems like.

My technical growth has stalled and I realize I don’t have much to even add to my resume.

I don't really see a path for me here and it looks like I am either going to be come stagnant or eventually be laid off.

@ygw, it's easy! Just convince Bill that you believe that he's doing the Right Thing (tm) and that his legacy will be be viewed with greater awe than even ole' Hank himself one year. Then ask him to let you support him building that legacy from a C suite position. From there it's all gravy, baby!

" doing no real work for years"

YEARS, wow.

How do I do this?

This is the culture. I was rightfully cut after coasting and doing no real work for years. It was a good ride. But now I don't want to work anywhere.

Yes, that is the culture. It was like this even before WFH, but has gotten worse. People are in their silos and maybe let their friends and family in. Everyone is protecting their silo, hoping to avoid layoff.

Ford is a toxic culture. The only rest around it is to be a massive @$$ kisser. Those are the ones that do the best at Ford

You must leave to grow professionally and to have any chance of a career. My son is graduating from college with his engineering degree. I told him NOT to work for an OEM but if he wanted to, only work two to three years and then leave to find a growing Company with a future.

Welcome to the Ford after Hatchet & Fartley, the clown CEO duo! Everybody is keeping their heads down while searching for a job in another company. There is no future here.
