Thread regarding Western Digital Corp. layoffs

I'm so tired of this

The only reason I'm still here is that my job search is going slower than expected. I've received several offers but they came with lower pay, and I refuse to work for less than I'm worth. As soon as the right opportunity appears I'll be out of here. I think others should follow this example. There's no future here.

If you really need the higher pay that’s one thing.

But if you don’t, why work a job you don’t like? You have offers. Do you really want to retire and think, “I hated what I was doing but I got a little more money. So, yeah, I was selling my life for a few bucks”.

OP, face it, the only reason you are at WD is because you are a loser that cannot make it to a top tier company.

I would compare the new salary of an offer to the salary you expect to earn at WD in one year. might be zero. How much do you expect?

How much is an HDD engineer worth, when not making developing HDD I wonder?

Like an engineer developing Diesel engines and switching to Battery research. I expect less short term to the new company.

Unless you have challenging financial situations, lower pay is okay if it means high potential of personal growth. Especially if you are still early in your career.
