I know a lot of people are saying they want this to be over as soon as possible, but I'd rather have this time to prepare than be in a situation where layoff was sprung on me with no warning. I've been preparing for the worst-case scenario for the past several weeks and now even if I'm laid off I know it will not be as bad as it could be. I'd rather have it this way than the "insta-layoffs" way any time.

Exactly. I see this as an extra notice period. Nobody should be blind sided. It’s gonna be extreme.
I agree. I've started applying to jobs. Applying to jobs is difficult especially if you are early in your career like me. Just automated rejection letters and no replies.
