Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco is becoming like H

  1. Having so called collective leadership. The reason why H has it because their orgs are consist of different departments in China government like pla, security, etc. They have to follow government rules. But why Cisco learned this thing?
  1. Hiring more junior engineers to replace senior engineers for the low cost. And exploiting engineers with more products instead of focusing on some and increasing their skills.
  1. People who don’t know anything lead people really know how to do things.

I hope Cisco can keep your ways to do things than learn from a failed competitor.

There are several H's, you referring to our main, well known, competitor coming out of China? Is being more like H a GOOD or BAD thing? Hard to tell here.

There is no such thing as a $200B company with no hierarchy. That's because humans can't deal with more than a small number of other people and hierarchies with all their flaws are still better than any alternative at scale.

As for senior versus junior, as I've said here many times if you've worked at a company that delivers on time and on budget release after release after release you'd know both the technical and managerial leadership at Cisco is extremely ineffective. As a near monopoly player they can afford to fail in ways no smaller company could.
