Any thoughts on this? Sounds like a warning - FEELS like ford is feeding this fear culture and ki-ling morale.

I am a local guy, have 6 friends at FORD. All 6 are trying to leave. One has an interview in AZ tomorrow.
Not sure in my guys at unique but 6 out of 6 is very high.
I thought that email was hilarious.
It’s all bs. Middle management is actively trying to squelch ideas from GSRs because it makes them look bad. The C-Suite is doing this so they said they “tried” to engage their people.
I hope the execs and HR people that troll this forum realize how stupid we all think they sound and are waiting for our numbers to get called. The culture is in the toilet. People will take jobs as soon as they can before being let go. Awesome job Ford at imploding yourself in the most spectacularly embarrassingly way possible. Adding more textbook case studies for future generations on what not to do to an iconic brand.
At my last job, there were workers, supervisors and one manager for each department (not several layers of LLs). Plus, whoever paid the bills didn't have to go through several sets of eyes. This process is time consuming.
The only way management knows how to manage Their bad decisions that are causing company money is to reduce heads at the lower levels. That’s all they know how to do, embarrassing. It’s a good thing they’re making millions and millions of dollars to make a decision to fire, innocent, hard-working people and they keep on getting richer
Isn't this where the dopes at top hire BCG or McKinsey to come up with more devious ways to lay off unsuspecting employees? GSR's and suppliers have provided every cost idea possible, it only becomes a great idea if it comes from a manager or half baked consultant with an MBA. Engineers not needed.
In my career, most companies will either have an active 'suggestion box' whether physical or online for employees to offer suggestions to better the company, offer cost saving measures, etc... They may also periodically offer 'challenges' to employees in a contest form and offer rewards. Unless they cost the company zero money to implement, they will go ignored.
I have also seen excellent improvement suggestions made by us 'peons' in the ditches to be ignored, but 6-12 months later when an Executive, Manager, VP, etc... made the identical suggestion it was suddenly implemented and praise heaped upon that person.
I would simply discard the email. This email is a desperate attempt by Ford Manglement. There comes a point of no return when no suggestions will right the sinking ship. Just make sure you have your personal lifeboat ready.
Is this an admission by Ford execs that they haven't a bloody clue how to do their jobs? It sounds pathetic to ask the working folks to do the execs homework for them. Is this how Ford's BIC competitors do business (I doubt it)?
My cost reduction is to cut the number of executives by. 50%, to be more in line with our competitors. Feel free to use mine as yours.
Send them back a suggestion on how about their executives can reduce bonuses for themselves!!
