Common to have the Sales layoffs during Aug, AFTER they drive their FY number. Have to get their travel cancelled before IMPACT.
Where are the Sales layoffs - was that fake news then? Let me guess, it happens at 19:00 hours today.

If you are in CX and are HTOM or HTE or HTTS, layoffs will be announced to you this week
If there are layoffs, I no longer care if I’m on the list. I’m so disenfranchised and burnt out doing the work of 4 jobs but with smaller budgets and mounting tech debt. I have another budget meeting about where to cut more money and it’s been a year long hiring freeze with no approved backfills.
I’ve been applying to anything and everything for 1 month in preparation and the job market is in a sad state too. Saving every dollar I can in case it takes a while.
If there is a group overseas in your org doing the same as your current team in the west, I would be worried and not trust what your leads say. Have your resume and contacts ready to go.
Watch the Q4 earnings and read the fine print. I’d bet money there’s a restructuring charge in there.
It's Cisco's tradition to have summer LRs, ever since they came up with an idea to call layoffs "limited restructuring" (2009, I think).
There are always layoffs in the new year. Lately, there are always layoffs year round. So of course there will be layoffs in August.
