What law firms have people talked to in the past about RAs and potential discrimination?

This is the go to place, if you are in MI.

1/3 was the contingency fee for my settlement.
I was in Toronto, and it was under 20 percent versus around 26 or more that we saw elsewhere, but our folks went in as a group and engaged them to represent us. That is how we got a favourable rate.
All the people 'on the bench' found each other and met internally and then formed a plan of action to extract as much as possible. The were no poor performers left so this group of people was highly motivated, organized, and pi---d off. Most of the negotiations went to the 'final offer' phase with a few proceeding to litigation. As I said, the Kyndryl group were pretty angry as they were super busy. Not floaters.
Form a group, meet with a firm and fight the default packages.
Good luck.
I can answer percentages, as I am 1wqh
I can't speak for the Canadian firm, but typically US firms will take 40% of the win, assuming you get a "win." The upside is you don't pay anything for the work, which might go on for a few years, and they don't get any money unless they get a settlement. Of course you could simply pay their fees and claim 100% of the settlement
The downside is a firm may want you to settle for less, just to get their 40%, which is why it's important to find the right firm. Plus one with a track record. However, at the end of the day, you're the client, they can't make you take a deal
@apbd re: Leckers Law: what was the contingency percentage charged by the law firm that you engaged? Did they end up charging you that exact amount or where there other charges that you had not foreseen. Thanks for the info!
'Make them pay in full' - Every post is tagged with 'RcBe83'? So who are you referring to?
@RcBe83 what was the contingency percentage charged by the law firm that you engaged? Did they end up charging you that exact amount or where there other charges that you had not foreseen. Thanks for the info!
I highly recommend the firm I used in Toronto - https://leckerslaw.com/
If you can get a group together you can get a break on the percentage.
Best of luck to the graduating class of '23.
I was successfully represented by https://www.llrlaw.com/ on a contingency basis.
It doesn't hurt, or cost anything, to call and interview them.
When you settle, be sure to tell your tax return preparer that your lawsuit settlement was employment related so that you can deduct the legal fees. re: "I.R.C. § 62(a)(20) Costs Involving Discrimination Suits, Etc."
Good luck!
@5swm - Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe? Well, that's soitenly how IBM treats its loyal employees! Only the names are different - Instead of Moe, Larry, and Curly, we have Rometty, Kavanaugh, and Krishna. At least the original Stooges were funny - recent IBM leadership is just tragic! 😏
I highly recommend Dewey,Cheatum and Howe. They have a long standing tradition of getting the job done

- 93 That IBM spin team is hard at work. What a joke!
I have posted several times about this:
Wright & Greenhill in Austin.
They have represented at least 20 plaintiffs (public info BTW), several very successfully. (I am not aware of the results exactly, but the plaintiffs who used them seem pleased). Beware of the one out of NYC who claims 100's as they are publicity hounds. You need a win.
I am NOT associated with them in any way. But I know several plaintiffs. Worth a call at least.
What is your discrimination?
