Our company has 15 Golden stores, Golden stores are stores that are given half a million or more to increase the look of the store to a more boutique and elevated look and higher end clothes. Better visual appeal, glass tables, chandeliers, better signage. They also get floor specialist in men and womens, like we had years ago to be a personal shopper with you while you shop. The shoe area also has specialist and on commission again. Our company has now added 30 more, so a total of 45. That doesn’t sound like to me a company who is going out of business. Don’t listen to the ones on here who has never worked at a great run Belk, or just hates working all together. Your job is what you personally put into it. There are so many people on here that doesn’t even make sense at what they are saying, childish and racial and derogatory comments, that I wouldn’t want them working in my store anyway. Work hard, love what you do or find what makes you happy, period!!!!

Your job is what you personally put into it. At belk. Are you serious? Well right back at you. I wouldn't want someone you working at my store.
@OP+1. Unbelieveable. What's going to happen to the other 278 stores? Oh I forgot, you don't care. But don't insinate that everybody else is unhappy or stupid just because you have gone to the dark side. You know nothing about what kind of people we are but your post says it all about you.
@wzt. Nice empathy. Keep working hard on your golden store but be carefull of that karma. Oh I forgot most belk associates and managers will throw everyelse under the bus for the money. Your post to me only proves what everybodys been saying.
@fri+. They will never admit to anything even if they do see it. I'm sure @OP+1 is one that is making the big money. As we know it is always on the backs of the hourly associates. You could go on all day but it won't put any decency in their hearts. They are laughing all the way to the bank.
I am at one of these new Golden 30 stores. A lot of work going into preparing to get it to one by October. So yes it is true, and those who say it isn’t knows nothing about the company and probably is the trolls that is on this site that doesn’t even work at a Belk or ever has. Give it up people, you have been on here for the last few years saying it’s anytime Belk is closing. Give it up, find something else to talk about. I am working to hard getting my store to a Golden store!!!!
But no money to increase our hourly rate in these G15 or 30 stores.

Belk currently has 293 stores
you say they have 15 "golden" stores and the company added 30 more. $2 billion in debt with "golden stores"? It does not take a mathematician to figure out that this make NO logical sense.
Store managers taking a hefty multi- thousands of dollars bonus off the backs of their employees....Just recently this has been a hot topic especially with human rescouces.
A C-Suite roster that reads like a "who's who" of people who have been fired from Macy's and other retail companies.
