Speaking up about quality problems or DFMEA issues only makes the cool kids who run things think you are a troublemaker. So there we go.

@hll

No, the DFMEA would get in the way of PowerPoint meetings. Not to mention leaving home and visiting the plant!! One simple plant visit by the quality engineer and / or DnR
would have prevented this issue.

This is really bad folks. Meaning, a terrible display of Ford's technical/engineering with getting a product right, right from the job 1 get go.

In a one word summation: Fail.

Based on the fix looks like a design issue. The engineer or full service supplier needs to be fired. Ford has been pushing cost cutting for years sounds like a TVM action

Like vitamins at Ford, one a day recall.

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2021-2023 Ford F-150 models over an issue with the electric parking brake.

The defect: in affected vehicles, which are equipped with a single exhaust system, contact with the rear axle housing may damage the wiring harness, causing the electric parking brake to activate unexpectedly.

The hazards: unexpected activation of the electric parking brake while driving increases the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: electric parking brake

Affected vehicles: select 2023 Ford F-150 models produced between January 8th, 2020, and February 25th, 2023.

Number of vehicles affected: 870,701

The fix: dealers will install a protective tie strap, tape wrap, and replace the harness as necessary, free of charge.
