Friday October 6th 2023 as the last day of VMware's existance? Can't see why else they would have brought it forward by a week.

Exactly... All days are EPIC at Broadcom, 12+ hr marathons LOL 😂
Everyday working for Broadcom will be epic!
Was there an email stating that the October epic day has moved? Was it not always on the 6th Oct ?
Christmas epic shutdown didn't "disappear", it was never added because it was known it was after the acquisition date and couldn't be guaranteed.
Interesting also that the Christmas epic shutdown has disappeared from the global calendar, a sure sign BCOM do not agree with them, hence anything post acquisition, EPIC Days, Take a Break days, all will be gone, use them and enjoy then while you can
This has acquisition written all over it.. it's unbelievable how naive people are.
Obviously, your random guess is so much more correct than everyone else's random guess. It's unbelievable how naive they are to have randomly not picked yours.
still happy we get this day off
Shouldnt they first ask for people who want to volunteer for layoffs ? This will be beneficial to both employees and the company, right ?
I take it as a subtle hint or warning that it’s happening fast. Prepare yourself mentally and get those resumes out if you’re one of those groups that will be initially cut.
There is no "4 day weekend".. VMW isn't ordinarily closed for Columbus day. This has acquisition written all over it.. it's unbelievable how naive people are.
If Columbus Day is the reason, why not time it to coincide with it to begin with? I also think this has to do with the merge
Can't see why else they would have brought it forward by a week.
There are plenty of potential reasons. One is that it allows for a four-day weekend in the States as Monday the 9th is Indigenous Peoples' Day (Columbus Day)
Line up some interviews and time your exit
If that is the case, then when should we expect layoffs ? Sept ?
Merge happening soon then. Time to buy more stocks while there is still a good spread?
