Has anyone ever seen an on the road supervisor doing a ride along in a FedEx truck? Other than initial startup training? No need. With so much surveillance already it's a thing of the past. Diad. Vehicle ecm that monitors whole truck. Satellite locator. Accessible backup camera able to remote monitor, etc. New box chip scanner located as package enters and exits doors. One person in the office could monitor the entire fleet. So other than a social event why would package carriers of the future need a ride along supervisor?

The weather ahead may be stormy for on car sups. Best predictor of U.P.S. future for management is follow what moves FedEx currently is up to. Another FedEx warehouse closed in today's news an example. They seem to be forth right about how the true package world economy is going. Hats off to FedEx for that.

You are right. Management salaries and mip will be reduced significantly to pay for the new contract. No driver now should want to go into management to take a serious pay cut. Currently management is always being told they need to have a relationship with their drivers. A lot of these drivers don't care about UPS or UPS customers. There are some great drivers who really care about there customers and I salute them. UPS treats there on road supervisor like sh-t and low-ball pay. The drivers make more than the on road supervisor

Mangement has no union protection, of course they get chopped first. Pricey new union contract could mean slicey for management.
