I'm not, but many of my friends are still with the company. There isn't a lot around, and IBM is downsizing too.
Looks like it's a strategy: build a fab in the boondocks so employees have nowhere else to go. Malta, Utica, Syracuse... Ohio (Intel).
Honestly, GF is counting on employees like you. Folks who are unhappy yet stay because they feel like they have no other option other than to move. GF will continue to treat their business and their employees cr-ppy as long as their are folks who settle.🤷♂️
I am the OP:
My question was not to disparage, honestly asking. I am here due to my wife loving Saratoga and kids ties to friends and school. I've made them move a lot when younger so it's my turn to sacrifice. Home life is wonderful so I just make it through the day and get home to them.
I was eliminated in March. Rehired by a better company. Got a fat check from GF for the trouble. Life is good.
Anyone who left GF should be happy and consider him lucky. What the he-l GF has become.
