There's people who retire from Chevron who are so miserable, lifeless and bored that all they have left in their life is to troll the layoff's site and deliver snarky know-it-all comments to struggling employees? Wow. My condolences. Sux to be you.

@Pkfo, I’ll let you in on a little known secret. Most people’s careers are not that big of a deal. Yours is no different. You’re not a mover or a shaker. Like most of us, we just show up, do what’s expected, hopefully don’t mess up much or tick off a superior. Are careers are not worthless, it’s only plain vanilla. Be content to collect 2 paychecks a month and stay around for a long time. Make your life worthwhile, not your job. There’s where you will find peace and happiness. The job just pays the bills, nothing more. Take this advise from a happily retired ex-Chevronite who knew this all along for 35 years.
I never did aspire to have a worthless career where I figured out a way to nothing and collect a paycheck, intentional or not. I prefer to do something with my life, if not I would move on to something else where I could, but that's just me.
Pity the folks who have to work directly with him. His arrogance and lack of respect for you as a high performer will make you hate going to work every day.
Yawn... who cares....

Empty suit and doesn’t check any boxes.
He will become lead jelly roll. I heard from a reliable source.
The question is what roll will EB have in after CFO and before CEO? EVP of something? Vice Chairman is a possibility.
JG just got passed over for CEO. He will go behind EB when she becomes CEO in 3-4 years, unless his ego is too damaged and in that case he will jettison from the company within a year. This should be interesting to watch. NH is NOT the next CEO; there is no one with sufficient experience to go behind him……..so NH runs the show for ~8 ish years until he retires and then EB decides to break it back up or has figured out how to backfill NH………..
JeGu not JoGe
He was the hatchet man for many many years!!
@1ghb, I only know one JG, Lady Gaga’s uncle. That particular guy is a joke, loves to hear himself talk, and is a Vaudeville act. Yes, with top hat, coat tails and a cane. Exit stage left.
Which JG are we talking about? The new one or lady gaga's uncle?
I thought he did well last month speaking about clean energy initiatives at Chevron.
Seems to be playing the victim card...
Absolutely no sincerity, arrogant beyond the extreme, disrespectful in his passive aggressive way, critical of everyone and everything up down and peers, , no support for people who achieve results, more interested in financially engineering performance than real growth and production and has driven many talented people to leave the company early. No record of results. People in Chevron are not stupid and their is valid reasons why this guy is so despised.
If you have ever had a conversation with him it is immediately obvious he is a conniving, self-serving weasel.
Usually the MO of someone who is all brown nose and all talk and underlings are sick of doing all the work
