Is there a way via text to see if a company iPhone has been deactivated?

goto: settings, general, about iPhone, advanced, network id settings, verify data protocol, send to alternate network, test configure, send outgoing network, verify phone # outgoing server.
You will get a ping code sent to your number verifying the data transfer - ie is the phone # still operative. The code will be you phone serial #.
Just use your skype number to call it to see if it dials through
Usually the number gets recycled
