Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Checked out and just biding my time

Tired of pretending that I can have a career here.

I’ve tried to network and talk to people but all that I see is people who are closed off, don’t want to share anything and there really isn’t any sense of belonging.

All I’ve gotten from working here is career stagnation, uninspiring colleagues and low pay. I’ve asked multiple times to be able to go to trainings and events to up skill myself and just get the cold shoulder.

No one is passionate or enthusiastic about being here and people seem to be playing the waiting game until they can leave

Heck yeah, check on out…
The company will check you out whether you want it to or not when it is advantageous for them to do so.
And on another note your country has sold you down the river…

So yeah -checked out about sums it up.

@xor+1nNl12lD i would see non-utilized talent all the time at ford. you have very sharp PhDs spending their days in budget meetings. the problem is, that is what is rewarded, so the sharp guys notice this and do it. if they would reward product improvements more, that's what those PhD guys would be doing.

This company does not care about you.

Your government does not care about you.

Ugh. This is what I heard during the Town Hall meeting:
"We are not saving money fast enough. You need to save more and do it faster so we can finish the train station, Dearborn Campus and every other project we're failing on."

@ykv - You're totally deluded and/or wearing blinders if you're not seeing the widespread demoralization of the salaried workforce here. I suppose you don't realize what the "Non-utilized Talent" bullet point on the eliminating waste slide is indicating. Although it should mean that they'll finally be pruning the driftwood floating along on the Friends 'n Family policy, what it really means is that there will more cuts in the nearish future of Dearborn based heads where the same roles have been spun up in one or more LCCs.

@ykv

I have many former coworkers that are overworked and sick of the stress

And yes many others feel this way.

I think you are in the clear minority here at Ford. I watched today's important Town Hall and participated in the chat and Q&A. Not one person (including me) felt the way you are portraying. Do you even work at Ford?

This is what happens when you hire a narcissist marketing dork to run your company into the ground

Yeah, I’m checked out also. I didn’t even watch the Global Town Hall. They’re just blowing hot air, all BS.
