Sorry, the lady was wrong. She violated company policy. She is lucky she was only bruised. She could be dead. Is your life really worth some Lowe's junk tools.
Sometimes I see folks sleeping in their cars in the box store parking lots. For whatever reason, they are out cold, but they leave their cars running. Chasing the dragon? I see this more in HD parking lots than Lowes parking lots.

I'm assuming she try to stop the shoplifter? Stores don't want the liability of employees getting hurt due to shoplifters, and they don't want the shoplifters to start making violence a regular thing. So they fire the employee instead. Sorry elderly employee.
If only the shoplifter tripped over a dog leash, slipped on some spilled Tide, or been bitten by a dog turned loose. At least a person can still dream of poetic justice.
