Any idea what the plan is for this OU? They're the last of legacy Covidien MITG OU after PM/RI spin off.

Surgical is a cash cow, robotics is a money pit MDT is stuck with. Both are safe IMHO

We first announced intentions to separate our Patient Monitoring (PM) and Respiratory Interventions (RI) operating units in October, and our path forward is becoming more clear: Medtronic continues moving forward with the intent to spin, given the high bar of benefits it creates, to start a stand-alone publicly traded company. This includes announcing key leadership roles that facilitate combining PM and RI into one unified organization.

The new company will be referred to as “SpinCo,” and a dedicated workstream will identify name options.
