I came across this Steve Jobs quote which aligns with IBM - particularity with the sales executives and management. Guess which part of the quote?
“In weak companies politics win, in strong companies best ideas win”. This is a big reason why top talent leaves IBM or why they get forced out with a lame PIP system.

imagine being a qu--r woman of color speaking up on great ideas.... in meetings I called together- and still get talked over. SMH
I'm convinced they don't really want to fix the problems they are experiencing. Even if it means people losing their jobs.
I expect more from IBM
It's all politics, good work is no longer needed. And the new VP is instilling this culture and protecting himself with his personal little "groupies" that were hired on last year.

Steve Jobs was 100 times more brilliant than any CEO or senior VP than IBM has had for at least the past 25 years. Do I think he could be a real a-s to work for? Of course. But he had vision and great instincts into what would excite the consumer about Apple products.
I don't think I'd follow Steve Jobs thoughts on anything being he ki-led himself because of his stupidity.
