Sad but true, I was resourced out. Two weeks after my departure date a colleague from my team quit. The manager was unable to back-fill, LOL....But I am sure IBM is fine with that, one less headcount more work for the four people left.
Eh? Not the U.S. Government. Just Investor Return Capitalism at its best? or Natural!
While it su-ks per-se - from my career perspective it's been happening for 20+ years.
From when Network Appliance said "we are totally U.S. Based - we will never hire out of country" to "We are starting a small facility in Bangalore", to (managers) "it's expected you hire 20% in India" to (manager) "70/30".
Sorry you or anybody is late to understanding the game - but it's been going on for 20+ years.
And before you start bi--hing about money - (as for a former job - India wasn't much cheaper than U.S.) re-patriatig money from overseas can be quite costly. So that's another avenue for multi-national companies - spend money where there's no penalty rather than re-patriating it - even if "nominal" salaries are the same.
its lovely when the US government screws over its own population
what other countries do that
Priority is in bringing over visa based employees to America
