Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

PSE Program

I am aware of the demise of the PSI program. Can anyone provide an update of the PSE program please?

They priced themselves out of installs in my area. Lanor cost to install a entry door, not including any materials is $500-1000 depending on the door. But the installers Lowes uses are being paid 40% of what Lowes is charging the labor. Rest of the labor charge is all pocketed by lowes.

That $500 labor cost lowes charges, calling up the actual installer and scheduling costs $200-300 in my area. Just labor, no materials.

IHC will be going away as well. Probably Q4 or Q1 '24. Look at just how recent they changed the entire pay structure for IHC.

What you will have instead is people from the installers Lowes uses sitting in the store at lead tables. That's payroll lowes doesn't have to spend and offloads to a 3rd Party.

PSE was eliminated and IHC was introduced as its replacement. Another classic example of Lowe's eliminating a position to get rid of higher paid, tenured employees, only to resurrect it under a new name and staff it with lower paid, less experienced employees--something they have done many times.

I think they changed to IHC, In Home Consultant.
Our last PSE did a lateral to DS Lumber.

The PSE program is just like the PSI program, but with a different vowel at the end.
(You're welcome!)
