@aec
you're absolutely right, for the handful of old-timers that are still here and remember the crash of 2008 - the Ford family had no choice but to either sell assets ( all the luxury brands Ford owned > Range Rover, Aston Martin, Volvo and Jaguar ) or take loans so as not to file bankruptcy which would have wiped out their fortunes. Mullaly did a great job containing as much of the mess as possible.
What everyone is forgetting is the crazy money the Ford family and some investors made buying up the stock at $1/ share that surged to $8 within a year. History has an odd way of repeating itself, I wouldnt be surprised if Lawler isn't planning a repeat of that scenario.
Everyone knows Sept will be another messy round of layoffs and the programs are all in bad shape. Doug Field isn't delivering, espc all the b$ subscription plans. Something shady is going on, we will find out soon enough. Good luck to all.

The 4400 sales isn't too surprising considering upgrades had to be done to hit that 150k volume and production has been down a lot this year. It will be interesting to see what demand is like now that we're flooding the market as I am skeptical as the rest of you that there is demand for a 50k+ truck but I think at least a portion of that tiktok is misleading.

I look back at how Dearborn and SE Michigan has change with the outsourcing of technical jobs. Face it, Ford made some colossal management mistakes that will take years to undo. That is if they are wise enough to clean house at the higher levels. Its never too late to step back and rethink the path forward.

I am glad and sad that I was let go last August. I am glad that most of the 33 years were memorable and fun. I am very sad for all my friends that are in the current quagmire.

Quality is low and Vehicle complexity is out of control. I would not consider buying a new Ford because of this. You would have to be a fool to buy and EV right now.

Ford, like most large corporations twice removed from their entrepreneurial roots, is run by “elites” who believe that loyalty to the class is essential. They believe in the the core of their being that “elites” are entitled to run everything no matter how wacko their ideas are.

EV is nothing but a smokescreen. Ford is in serious trouble , a result of inferior management from Farley, Lawler, the !d!0t Hackett and the Ford family , especially Bill and the !d!0t Elena. Trace the stup!d!ty back to Hacekkt's time as CEO of FSM ( Ford ( not so ) Smart Mobility ), billions wasted and no profitable results. Add the billions wasted on Argo and MCS and the the disgraceful " Smart Redesign " which sparked the Boston Consulting list leading and the termination of almost all salaried employees over 50 that qualified for pensions and here we are. D Field is not capable of engineering next gen EV platforms let alone leading teams that can. All the programs are delayed and those that have studio accessd aren't exactly thrilled that everything looks like old Teslas, guess thats what happens when you bring in another l0$er from Renault ( Lincolns look even worse, who the he-l is making decisions needs to terminted a$ap)! Layoffs, you betcha more are coming, it's Fords way of boosting a temp uptick in the stock price ( theyre expected in Sept. ). After that its going to get very messy. Everyone is aware sales are cyclical and after an insane price gouging from dealers post pandemic, no one is spending crazy money for an unreliable FoMoCo vehicle, especially an electric one. Where are all the data and subscription revenue as promised by Fake Farley???? IDK, maybe theyre being deported to France along with that other winner, FL Victor. Hey Alexandra, everyone is hedging their bets on you, well influence the BoD to terminate Jimmy and find someone with a proven record of success ( NOT Dougie ) to run your namesake company. Ms Barra has demonstrated what can be done, transforming what was a sinking ship to a bonafide moneymaker. Those are the qualities needed, not a childish wannabee baby race driver. Oh and stop offshoring engineering before it's too late. Enough.
