Read an article this morning that the layoffs this week were already planned in the original November announcement....I find that hard to believe since there were numerous other articles that said there were going to be no other layoffs. What is everyone's thoughts on this?

Yep, bullsh-t. I heard one SVP saying we have to cut more (not, and now let’s finish the LR from November) because we haven’t saved enough and our margins are not good enough. Not like anyone is swallows the news stories
There’s been restructuring charges in the announcements every quarter this FY. We knew there was a bunch of cash still to burn in Q4. I knew, and so did others, that they were taking names back in April. It was clear that although the date was unknown, it had to be in Q4.
But many refused to believe it.
Cisco used to do layoffs once a year. Then twice.
Cisco used to do quarterly layoffs for years.
When the whole floor of my building got laid off we had as many hints as could legally be provided months in advance and the individual groups discussed this openly in team meetings yet the day of the layoff half the people were still genuinely surprised. We need to stop this. We need to teach people to be prepared at all times because plenty of good people get flushed at some point in their career, and this has been the case for the past 40 years.
Cisco used to do layoffs once a year. Then twice. Now it’s literally constant. “Agile!”
Thank goodness the November firings are finally completed,
Now we dont have to wait for the next round of firings until August.
Reading between the lines in the Check-in Q&A several answers basically say that layoffs are “always” a possibility. Thus more to come sooner rather than later. Cisco’s addiction to layoffs continues.
We're sitting in this Check-In meeting and I haven't absorbed anything because they have not addressed the elephant in the room. Why not address the recent LR at the top of the call? Have Chuck kick this off with that message, give us the truth, and then move on to where we're headed.
Lay-offs in cisco is like the perpetuum mobile.
This has been confirmed.
These cuts are part of the November 2022 layoffs (5% of the workforce). that’s what’s being said.
Which we all know it’s not true, as Chuck confirmed post that cut that there weren’t gonna be any more cuts.
They just needed to cut and will claim it was part of the November cuts.
Hope everyone that got affected is able to bounce back quickly.
Good luck

a sinking ship is a sinking ship. Take care of yourself and family now. Be ready. Have plan B and C..
You don't need to be a management consultant to know they are already planning the next layoff.
Layoff batches of full-time employees and replace with contractors. This will continue for the next 10 years.
That is a weasel way around the required WARN act announcement.
Easy. Chuck lies. And then he lies some more. Add infinitum
