Thread regarding Western Digital Corp. layoffs

We will need 1.7 people if merger/split happens...JK

Remember all-hands with JK and he stated will need to hire 1.7 people if merger/split happens......I don't see that happening..morale is just flat dead now at this company, it's a ghost town at GO as well, no one adheres to the 3 days in the office. So many very good people were let go. Very sad.

They are BSing, I got RIF last round, and tbh with you guys, in HDD, there is only one product in US, and there are more redundant people still. And no RIF in Japan makes worse for US employees

You tell the workers as much comforting information as possible while facing strife. If you have not tried hard to get a new job by now whatever happens next is on you. If you have and can’t find a better situation then you should be grateful to still be here.

Why should executives reduce their pay or start caring about employees after a merger or after HAMR appears. Executives will continue to do what theyve always done.

Nothing changed when Elliot joined. Nothing changed when WD HDD tech caught up. Excessive executive bonuses require layoffs, until the end.

It's not about buisness cycles, or technology, or diversity. It's about the cost of paying executives 3x what they were paid in 2019.
