I was there ages ago and they not only didn't announce promotions publicly but it was during a wage freeze so we didn't even get raises.
CR doesn't bother about employees because they are just headcount (maths) for him. they will keep coming and going. People managers and Directors must taken care of them. that is why are paid for. there hardly any middle level management contributes to the development of Cisco. They take orders from top and manage the headcount. We are the headcount who think that Cisco is a "Family". Can't blame because most of them are true engineers by heart they love to see product works. but ELT only want to see Money works. the more you understand how Cisco works less expectation you will have towards their leadership...starting from your immidiate manager.
Yeah that email was total bs. It truly shows people how disconnected he is to the actual company itself.
But hey I’m sure Chuck and the gang will get their huge bonuses and pay packages. They are good at boosting EPS by laying people off and buying back shares of the company.
I have so little respect for this company at this point. The checkin today should be frustrating. They had better address these layoffs.

I got an automated email on Sat after being informed on the Tue prior that I had been impacted that I was a valued member of Cisco and that my contributions over the past 5 yrs had contributed to Cisco's success and that I could log into some website and order my anniversary gift from some limited set of options that all su-ked.
You would have thought that they'd have looked up everyone on the impacted list to see if they had any service anniversaries in that 30 day window of still being an employee and remove them from the automated service anniversary mailer and send them something a little more appropriately worded message about being sorry you had to leave, but they still wanted to recognize your 5, 10, 15 or 20 yrs of service with a gift.
The way the damn letter was worded, it just twisted the kn--e they stuck in my back as they kicked me to the curb.

Do people really give a dime about emails like such? , I auto-filtered those emails to a folder and never looked when I was there.

The day of the last layoff they posted "It's the season for shopping" along with holiday images. I was thinking. ok, well, we had cancel Christmas. So thoughtful.
