Go look, the market isn't as bad as HR wants you to believe. I would retain your job while looking. Look at some of the EV battery start ups too, they will keep doing well as long as the government keeps throwing money at it. WD's future is looking bleak... It will take years to rebound if they ever do. I just dumped all my stock before next earnings report. Done with this company and their worthless management/executive team. The brain drain from development is real bad... good luck with future products... The manufacturing managers are young and inexperienced lacking critical process knowledge. The IT org is a sh-t show taking days to respond to anything and is fat with dead weight. The diagnosis is congested heart failure for WD.

Nothing wrong with putting out some feelers. If layoffs are coming you should ideally already be doing so. I accepted an offer last week actually. The market is bad but not completely non existent.
I would try to see if I can get a better offer and jump. Sooner the better
