  • More companies resorted to layoffs last month as soft demand pushed manufacturers to cut costs.

Schenectady is for certain hiring the bottom if the barrel, been doing so for a cple years now. Regardless, there wont be a layoff here for years now. The world economy slow down has nothing to do with the world infrastructure orders and rebuilds. GE and others are on the up swing of the equiptment market of the world. Always been a cyclical business and always will be.

Yep Schenectady just hired a bunch of people so they can lay them off and have them as an almost on call basis. You should see some of these new hires they hired. Really scraping the bottom of the hire bucket
