Yes
- There is no conflict of interests (working for a competitor, a supplier, or generally in the automotive field).
- No internal Ford information is disclosed to the "back up" company (secret, confidential or just internal communications can be used for a variety of things, like shortening the Ford stock, or acquire leverage over Ford).
- The working hours between the two companies SHOULD NOT coincide. Technically, this is a professional and honorable stance for the employee, since in any overlapping periods of time you'd not be giving your best effort to any of the two companies. Now, we know that some "people" at Ford have side business during office hours, and keep receiving Ford's paycheck while doing absolutely nothing. So it is up to you, and your morals, to follow this point. Just a reminder about the "wisdom" of eating from two plates at the same time: it can backfire on you, not only from Ford, but from the new company, and you'll end without anything.
